This month Wplus9 Design team is featuring Distress Inks. I’ve been a fan of Distress Inks for a couple of months now. They are rich and make the perfect impression of a “distressed” look when stamping. For this card I used Tim Holtz’s Walnut Stain Distress Ink. It’s a rich dark brown and I just love the effect it creates. It really pops on darker card stocks too.
I started with a Terracotta Tile (PTI) card stock base and cut a corresponding panel for the focal piece about 1/2″ shorter to add some depth. I stamped the some leaves from the Season of Thanks stamp set with my distress ink all over the focal piece. I then added some brown gingham fabric tape to create a messy top border.
I cut another piece of Terracotta Tile card stock with a My Favorite Things die for the sentiment – and used more of my distress ink to stamp the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Season of Thanks. I just love this font…absolutely stunning! Finally, added a yellow button and some twine with some glue dots to balance out the final piece.
Make sure you check out the rest of the Wplus9 Design Team’s projects using Distress Inks for some great inspiration!
