December Release Sneak Peek Day 2

For the second set from Wplus9 this month I bring you two fun cards with the GORGEOUS new stamp set “Sweet Nothings.” This set was beautifully illustrated using Dawn’s own handwriting! I have to admit – I’m so jealous she has such a beautiful signature style. I cringe every time I have to sign a card…I would much rather just make them. I am not so blessed in the handwriting department.

My first card I used the vintage looking plaid stamp for a background to really focus on the sweet sentiment. I rubbed the stamp with two pigment inks (Colorbox) and stamped it two times in a row to draw the eye in with a rustic feel. Stampin Up’s Chocolate Chip ink was used for the sentiment to stand out on top.

I used my tea dye duo (Papertrey Ink) to add some wear to the edges of the white card stock. Then added some brown and white twine (Papertrey Ink) to the card along with a warm toned flower from a vintage flower assortment I had in my stash. A very simple but vintage feeling card I just adore!
For my second card I wanted a fun lovey dovey card for this second gorgeous sentiment. I really wanted the words to be central and LOVE the soft strokes of the hearts that Dawn illustrated.
I had a left over piece of Terracotta Tile (Papertrey Ink) reverse cut from a My Favorite Things die scrap. I used that as the central focal piece and used some Versa Mark to stamp the hearts in a fun pattern. Adhered the piece to some Spring Moss card stock (Papertrey Ink) and stamped the beautiful sentiment in the center with some SU black ink. Finished it off with a stamp of the smaller heart with some Terracotta Tile ink.

I know this set will be a staple of mine – I LOVE typography and sentiments that really steal the show. Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects with this fabulous set!
And check back tomorrow for the full reveal of both sets on Dawn’s site!

Your handwriting is gorgeous girl. And mine is none to envy. Why do you think I paired it with the type-set font. LOL It's supposed to look quirky. ;o)
