10 Minute Craft Dash

So the number one reason I love making cards (other than keeping my creative sanity) is that they are quick & fun!

Of course I had to play along with Paulina’s 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge:

I just love those colors! I pulled out some fun & fabulous patterned papers & chipboard pieces to correspond with this card:

I love the “map” texture along with the “retro” feel of the car. And of course that fun font sentiment stamp from WPlus9’s A Pocketful. Luckily all the fun chipboard pieces & patterned papers made this card happen in under 10 minutes! I’m a pretty fast crafter when my mojo is right, and luckily thanks getting up early and a yummy breakfast I was ready to rock!

I hope you find at least 10 minutes in your day to make something pretty!

Boutonnieres

Hello Blog world…Sorry I’ve been so quiet as of late. Between wedding planning / work / family / and an oyster shell through my foot over Labor Day weekend, my life has been even more hectic than usual! I did survive my encounter with the crusty little bastard after jumping off my fiancé’s boat in Crooked River, GA. Four stitches, a tetanus shot, and lots of pain meds later I have this little *souvenir* to share…

Yep that little beauty was all up inside my poor little foot. I’m thinking about making a necklace out of it. And then of course having an oyster roast!

Well on to the real reason for this post. I’ve been meaning to show off the boutonnieres I created for our upcoming wedding. Why yes…it’s only 3 months away!! {{time to start freaking out!}}

Ok so I was inspired from some different styles I found on Etsy and here is what I came up with:

Super simple and I LOVE the way they turned out 🙂 All it took were some crafty goods from Michaels including:

  • Paper Gardenias (from Wedding section pack of 12 for like $5)
  • Speckled Feathers (bag of like 500 for $3)
  • 1 Roll of Ribbon (Apple Green from Michael’s 360 Brand $3)
  • Flower Tape (Dollar Store $1)
  • Pearl Tipped Pins (Pack of 50 at Dollar $1)

Grand Total: 12 Boutonnieres for $13

And I have tons of feathers left over I’m using with the invitations. Pretty genius thought I had speaking of those…what better way to embellish something you have to (pay) to mail! They are light as a feather…Brilliant!

Hope you are having a great TGIF!

Day 2: WPlus9 Design

So we are back with some SUPER fun new die cuts & stamps from WPlus9 Design:

  • Country Charm
  • Clear Cut Stackers: Pinking Squares die
  • Quilt Cuts 1 die

And here is my little creation:

Not only is there a great pattern building stamp set, but also the super fun quilt die cuts. I will say you need patience to work with these, but it is so worth it! I started with the quilt pattern and then grew upon it with more layers. This is such a great set to use with patterned papers to make intricate designs and patterns.

Make sure you see what the rest of the WPlus9 ladies are up to and check back tomorrow for more fun:

Sew Happy

Finally got some time to play with my sewing machine and made a little ring bearer pillow for our upcoming wedding. Super simple! (and best of all free since my fiancé owns an upholstery shop full of scraps)

Here is the tutorial I loosely based mine on: Martha Stewart

I used vintage rose seam binding sewed to the center for tying the rings on. What do you think? I’m pretty happy with it and love how it turned out!
